Modeling Project Part 3
Calibrating GSSHA Model based on the optimized results from HMS
and Stochastic run mode in GSSHA
Dr. Nelson
Based on the optimized Green & Ampt and Clark parameters in HMS, change your GSSHA parameters as necessary and try to get as close as possible to the observed flow data.
This process is the manual calibration of your GSSHA model. After you think you are done select a couple of parameters you would like to vary over a few different GSSHA runs.
Set up a Stochastic run in GSSHA following the instructions given here.
It is suggested that you chose 2-3 parameters to test with the stochastic run mode. You should run your GSSHA model this way a minimum of ten times. So if you decide on 2 parameters (ex. roughness and initial moisture) each parameter should be run 5 times each.
Note: You may need to adjust the maximum and minimum values that are given so your parameter is limited to a smaller range of values.

TO TURN IN WITH PROJECT REPORT:
Make sure you note which particular parameter you allow to vary so you can include this in your report. For example if you only allow the hydraulic conductivity to vary for one of the soil types or for all of the soil types.
